Pat Brody Shelter for Cats Logo Success Stories

We thought it would be nice to share some of our success stories with you.  If you have adopted a cat from us and would like us to tell your story, please send us an email or give us a call at 978-582-6116.

Mo (Greta #4)

We adopted Mo (Greta #4) the summer of 2004 and so we're giving you a good
update now.  Mo's doing great and probably has ten nicknames.  When you wake
up she's in your face and meowing because it's chow time.  Her sister Snowball takes wonderful care of her and licks her ears when they lay together.  Together they sneak downstairs and spy on our new dog- they're not sure whether or not they like her.  She's doing good here in Minnesota even though I think she misses our bigger house back in Massachusetts.  Mo observes tons of birds and squirrels out the window and sits there for hours.  She chases the dog's tail through the door until she gets barked at and then she has to scamper under the bed again.  She is a pretty scared cat unless you sit still for a couple minutes - then she'll come up and lick you and lay on you.  Mo is a wonderful, playful kitty to have around the house.

Thanks for Mo and saving the other kitties,
The Wesloh Family

Dumpster #3Dumpster
"Dumpster #3" is still Dumpster - the name stuck.  She is doing  very well
here.  She adjusted very quickly to Manny, our 6 month old kitten, as well as the two dogs.  She is still EXTREMELY affectionate and we love her. I think she's pretty happy here.
Thankyou!
Stephanie

Peppa and EmmaPeppa (formerly Pepper)

When our beautiful Peapod passed in October 2004, our sweet Emma, then a 1 year old part Maine Coon, was so sad.  She went from a bouncy playmate to a sad lost soul.  On New Years Day 2005 I made the trip from Newton, MA out to
Lunenburg.  I had been checking out the website for a friend for Emma and had seen 2-3 possibilities.  When I got there 2 of them had been adopted and the 3rd was too aggressive for my liking.  Then I spotted Pepper.  She was sooo timid but had the sweetest face and a look that pleaded with me not to leave without her.  We had QUITE a time collecting her but it was well worth the challenge.  My husband was sure that I had made a colossal error in judgment but after 2 days of sniffing and yodeling under the door the girls finally met face to face.  Pepper did her best to flatten herself against the floor while Emma circled her.  Emma must have known how scared Pepper was because she simply laid down beside her and they slept!  They fill our hearts daily.  Emma has always slept curled up behind my knees.  Peppa prefers sleeping on Daddy's pillow, behind his head.  She's totally a Daddy's girl!

Peapod would have loved her too.  Thank you for bringing us all together.

Isabella seems very content in her new homeIsabella
To the Shelter Staff,

There is such a thing as love at first sight, as I saw it firsthand. :-) Isabella was waiting by the door of one of your rooms and with her best smile, she pranced all around Albert's feet (my father-in-law) and of course, he was goner. I am still amazed at how comfortable she was from the moment she got to her new home. Isabella had so much fun exploring her new home, she fell asleep sitting up! Oh how adorable that was. Within one day, she was making herself comfortable by laying, sitting and sleeping right next to Albert. She is such a love bug and loves giving kisses, and oh and let's not forget where he goes, she goes. Another thing I thought you would enjoy knowing, what a surprise to all of us, that she LOVES belly rubs. So much so, she will let us know by rolling over and stretching out when she wants one. Thank you so much for her!  You guys do such a great job. We will never forget the moment the two of them fell in love with one another.

Most Sincerely
Michelle and Chris Sanderson and Albert Sanderson (Owner)

JakeJake (Jacob)
Hello There,

We have been meaning to send this email, but it is the Holidays, and we have been busy.

Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I adopted Jacob, now called just Jake, in November, and he is doing great!!!!!! Wanted to say that we were thrilled to learn that he was a Katrina rescue. It makes him even more special, knowing that we helped the animals that were also victims of that horrible ordeal.

He has become a wonderful, loving kitty who loves attention. He doesn't like to be picked up much, but will sit with us on the couch for hours. He loves to purr, and loves to eat!

He and his "brother" are still working out their differences, but all in all get along okay.

Thank you for the continued good work.

Sam and Tiger (Shalimar 1 and Olive 3)
Just letting you know Shalimar1 now known as Sam and Olive 3 now known as Tiger are doing vey well.  We adopted them in August and have since taken them to the vet and they both are healthy.  We have put in a pet door that leads out to a large enclosed porch which they love they now come and go as they please. They have adjusted very well and seem to be very happy.  My husband and I are very happy with our two new additions and we feel very good about being able to give these two sweet kitties a very good home.
Thank You
