Basic Adoption Information

Fees:

We accept only cash or checks.

We cannot accept credit cards.

Our adoption fees are as follows: Donation prices for our cats range from $175.00 - $400.00 depending on the age, health, breed and disposition of the cat. Special breeds and exotics can range from $250.00-$450.00 Payment is by check or cash only.

Although the shelter does receive special rates from veterinarians, the $225.00/$175.00+ fees cover only one-half to one-third of our costs. The cost of providing each cat with a complete physical, microchipping, all shots, testing for Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and spaying or neutering is approximately $250 - $300 if the veterinary work was done individually. Without the fee, we could not keep the shelter functioning. We depend on donations and fundraisers to raise money for the rest of the costs. Also, many cats need special medications and surgery prior to being adopted. The shelter also absorbs these costs.

Kitten Adoption Policy

Kittens under the age of 4 months must be adopted in pairs, unless you already have a younger cat at home. It is our policy that kittens this young must have a playmate. This is a general guideline, and some kittens 4 months and older must still be adopted in pairs if they are bonded to other cats.

If you have read all of our adoption policies and agree with them, please fill out one of our online adoption application forms

We still have lots of cats looking for their special person. We don't have all their photos included here, but we keep adding more photos all the time.

In fact, we have added so many photos of our cats that they are now spread out over many pages. Please make sure you click on the More Photos link at the bottom of each page to see all our beautiful kitties.

If you find a kitty that interests you, please call the shelter ASAP. Kittens and teens are adopted out more quickly than the older cats. BUT - Older cats make wonderful companions. Their purrsonalities are well-formed, they are often more suitable for a home with small children and they are just as deserving of a good home as the kittens. Please don't overlook them.
